Associate Professor Elske van de Fliert serves as Director of the Centre for Communication and Social Change at the University of Queensland's School of Communication and Arts. With a PhD in Communication & Innovation (1993, Wageningen University), she leads research on participatory approaches to sustainable development across Southeast Asia, Timor Leste, and Mongolia.
