Associate Professor Alexandra Peralta is affiliated with the School of Economics and Public Policy at the University of Adelaide, part of the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics. She leads research in the Centre for Global Food and Resources (CGFAR), focusing on agricultural innovations, economic impacts of mobile financial services, and food security in developing regions. Her work spans Cambodia, Laos, Timor-Leste, and Indonesia, emphasizing gender dynamics, technology adoption, and value chain resilience.
Her research employs econometrics, lab-in-field experiments, and qualitative methods. Current projects include evaluating mobile finance impacts on farming households and seed systems in Timor-Leste. She collaborates with ACIAR, IDB, CIAT, and ICRAF, and has held roles at Michigan State University and as a Fulbright alumna.
