About
Elsa Cassette is a Research Fellow in physical chemistry at the Light-Matter at Interfaces Laboratory (LuMIn), part of the University of Paris-Saclay and CNRS. Her research focuses on photophysics and optoelectronic materials, particularly halogenated perovskites and colloidal nanoplatelets. She develops advanced femtosecond laser-based spectroscopy techniques to study ultrafast light-matter interactions in these materials.
Education and Career:
- 2012: PhD in Materials Physics and Chemistry from ESPCI Paris-PSL
- 2012–2016: Postdoctoral Fellowships at University of Toronto (Canada) and Princeton University (USA)
- 2016–2019: ANR-funded CaMPUUS Project (High-Level Researcher Recruitment)
- 2016: Joined CNRS as a Research Fellow at the Interactions, Dynamics and Lasers Laboratory
- 2021: Moved to LuMIn at ENS Paris-Saclay
Research Interests: Her work aims to optimize optoelectronic devices (e.g., solar cells, LEDs) by understanding fundamental dynamic processes in nanomaterials. She specializes in femtosecond spectroscopy and nanocrystal synthesis.
Awards: Recipient of the prestigious CNRS Bronze Medal (2022) and Doctor Honoris Causa from ENS Paris-Saclay.
Grants and Projects: Led the ANR-funded CaMPUUS project, focusing on materials science and nanotechnology collaborations.
Labs and Teams: Currently affiliated with LuMIn, a leader in light-matter interface research. Previously part of the Interactions, Dynamics and Lasers Laboratory (CNRS).
