Ellie Reed is a Lecturer in English at Brunel University London, affiliated with the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences and the English and Creative Writing department. Her teaching focuses on twentieth-century and contemporary literature, while her research examines domestic women's magazines (1918–1958) and their role in shaping gender norms, class identities, and cultural practices.

Ellie’s publications include a 2023 monograph on Woman’s Weekly and domestic culture, and 2020–2021 articles on knitting patterns, romance narratives, and middlebrow cultural pedagogy. These works highlight themes of Material Culture, Gender Discourse, and Class Identity.
She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of European Periodical Studies and is a member of the European Society for Periodical Research, The Space Between Society, and The Knitting History Forum. Ellie holds an ORCID (0000-0002-8702-7382) and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
