Ellen Lupton is the Betty Cooke and William O. Steinmetz Design Chair at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore and Curator Emerita at Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York City. An accomplished author and curator, her work bridges design theory, education, and social advocacy.
Research Focus: Lupton's scholarship critically examines design processes through the lenses of equity, accessibility, and human-centered innovation. Her publications and exhibitions explore:
