Ellen Huang is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair in the Humanities & Sciences division at ArtCenter College of Design. Her research explores the intersection of art, science, and materials, with a focus on design and material culture in China, emphasizing cross-cultural translation in global contexts.

Huang’s work bridges historical and contemporary perspectives on material practices, including ceramic traditions in China (e.g., Longquan and Jingdezhen porcelain), as well as textual and visual interplay in historical artifacts.
