Elke Greifeneder is a Professor and Deputy Director at the Berlin School of Library and Information Science, part of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. She joined the institution in 2014 as a junior professor and became a full Professor (W3) in 2019. Her research focuses on information behavior in digital environments, including topics like information avoidance, data evaluation patterns, and personal data management.
- Co-leads the DFG-funded project Curating Digital Images with Sharon Macdonald and Christoph Bareither
- Director of the iLab, an 80 m² information behavior and retrieval laboratory
Her work bridges ethnographic methods with eye-tracking technology to analyze sensory data in curation processes. She has previously held academic positions at the iSchool, University of Copenhagen (2012–2014).
