About
Dr. Elizabeth Wojciechowski is a Clinical Lecturer at the Sydney School of Health Sciences, University of Sydney. She is affiliated with the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, where she leads the Paediatric Gait Analysis Service of NSW. Her research focuses on biomedical engineering applications for improving mobility in children with movement disorders, particularly through 3D-printed orthotic devices and wearable sensor technologies for community-based functional assessment.
Her research interests include pediatric gait analysis, musculoskeletal biomechanics, and neuromuscular disease management. Dr. Wojciechowski has published extensively on topics such as 3D-printed ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs) for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and cerebral palsy, as well as MRI biomarkers for gait impairment in pediatric neurological conditions.
Key grants include the 2021 Validation of Wearable Sensors grant (Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine) and the Feasibility of Smart AFOs grant (American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association). Her work has been featured in journals like Gait and Posture, Clinical Biomechanics, and The Lancet Child and Adolescent Health.
Her clinical and research activities are centered at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, where she collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to advance pediatric rehabilitation strategies.
