Elizabeth Wellsandt is an Associate Professor in the Physical Therapy program at UNMC's College of Allied Health Professions with a courtesy appointment in Orthopaedic Surgery. Her research focuses on ACL injury recovery, biomechanics, and osteoarthritis prevention.
She directs an interdisciplinary team investigating movement patterns, muscle strength, physical activity, and MRI biomarkers to optimize recovery and prevent adverse outcomes like re-injury and arthritis. Her NIH-funded research examines factors influencing long-term knee health.
