Dr. Elizabeth Simon is a Postdoctoral Researcher in British Politics at Queen Mary University of London's School of Politics and International Relations, where she joined in December 2022. She holds a PhD from the University of Southampton, alongside an MSc from Southampton and a BA from Warwick. Her research focuses on political behavior, public opinion, and attitudinal formation, particularly examining how educational attainment, socio-demographic variables (age, housing tenure, geography), and inequalities influence voting patterns in contemporary Britain.
Her work has been supported by a Queen Mary Impact Fund Grant (2023) for collaborative research with the Centre for London on wellbeing analysis. She teaches POL105 Political Analysis and POL269 Political Data Research.
