Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) Maber is an Associate Professor in Sociology of Education at the University of Cambridge's Faculty of Education. Her work focuses on education's role in conflict, gender dynamics, and social justice, particularly in contexts of displacement and authoritarianism. She holds a PhD from the University of Amsterdam and degrees from the University of Edinburgh.
Her research explores education in emergencies, cross-border movements, and policy reforms in conflict-affected regions like Myanmar and Thailand. She co-leads projects such as the ESRC-funded 'Higher Education, States of Precarity and Conflict' and contributes to initiatives like the Edu-Peace Network.
