Dr. Elizabeth Holmes is a Clinical Professor in Voice and Director of the Coker Community Music Program at Coker University since 2022. She holds a DMA in Vocal Performance from Shenandoah University (2021), an MM in Vocal Performance from West Virginia University (2007), and a BA in Music (Voice) & International Studies from Emory University (2005). Previously, she taught at Shenandoah University, Shepherd University, and West Virginia University.
Her research focuses on singer health and gender representation in music, including a 2023 presentation titled “The Importance of Sleep: Science & Solutions for Singers” at SC NATS and a 2021 doctoral dissertation analyzing gender themes in Lori Laitman’s The Scarlet Letter.
She emphasizes Coker University’s supportive community, stating, “The Coker community will come together to help you achieve your goals.” Her leadership extends to the Coker Community Music Program, fostering musical engagement beyond academia.
