Dr. Elizabeth Edwards serves as Associate Professor and Director of Research Innovation and Higher Degree Research at The University of Queensland's School of Education. With academic appointments in both the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences and Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences, she bridges education, psychology, and medical education through her interdisciplinary research.
Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Education at Griffith University, followed by psychology honors and PhD at Bond University. With 20+ years of experience as a primary teacher, special education teacher, guidance counselor, and psychologist across Australia and the UK, she brings substantial practical expertise to her academic role.
- Research Focus: Anxiety-cognition interplay, cognitive control training for youth mental health, digital behavior impacts, and educational sustainability
- Supervision: Currently advising 8 PhD students across Vietnam, Indonesia, and Australia
