About
Elizabeth Addis is an Associate Professor of Biology at Gonzaga University. She researches physiological mechanisms underlying life-history strategies in vertebrates, integrating ecology, endocrinology, and evolutionary biology.
Education includes:
- PhD in Zoology (University of Washington, 2009)
- BA in Biology (Carleton College, 2002)
Research examines trade-offs between reproduction, growth and survival in painted turtles, marmots, and songbirds. Current projects investigate insulin-like growth factors in snakes and physiological responses to urbanization. Fieldwork includes studies at Round Lake State Park analyzing nesting behaviors and environmental impacts.
Teaching includes Physiology, Animal Behavior, Vertebrate Endocrinology, and Advanced Physiology courses. Research collaborations involve partners at multiple universities studying altitudinal range expansion and breeding synchronicity.
