Elise Omfalos is a Learning Innovation Manager at Queen Mary Academy, Queen Mary University of London. She leads strategic initiatives in advancing learning and teaching, overseeing Fellowships and the Learner Intern Programme. Her work emphasizes immersive technologies like VR/AR/Metaverse to enhance educational experiences. She holds SFHEA (Society for Research into Higher Education) accreditation and has over 20 years’ global experience in adult education and course design.
Research interests include immersive learning methodologies, employability skill development, and inclusive education practices. Notable projects include 'Designing Collaborative Learning Spaces in the Metaverse' and exploring awarding gaps for Black undergraduates. She pioneered the Royal College of Surgeons' first fully online Postgraduate Certificate in Surgery and developed international faculty training programs in Bangladesh, India, Saudi Arabia, and Sri Lanka.
