Elisabeth Venohr

Dr. Elisabeth Venohr is a Researcher in the Department of German Studies - German as a Foreign and Second Language at Saarland University. She serves as Coordinator for the Continuing Master's Program "German as a Foreign and Second Language" and as Academic Advisor for German as a Foreign Language. Dr. Venohr actively participates in international networks including DAAD Eastern Partnerships and coordinates the "Intercultural Communication in Border Areas" project through the Europa Cooperation Platform between Saarland University and htwsaar.

Her research expertise encompasses:

• Text Linguistics and Contrastive Textology in German language education
• Text Genre Didactics for non-native German speakers
• Specialized Language Didactics for professional contexts
• Academic Writing instruction in German as a Foreign Language settings
• Intercultural Communication in business and university environments
• Multilingual Didactics and intercultural learning approaches
• German-French educational dialogue initiatives

Dr. Venohr leads the Saarbrücken branch of the Society for the German Language (GfdS) and serves as first chairperson of the Saarbrücken Alumni Association "dafInteGrAle. E.V". She teaches courses in the Department of German Studies with upcoming instruction scheduled for Winter Semester 2025/26 and Summer Semester 2025.

Her office is located in Building A2.2, rooms 3.06-3.07, 66123 Saarbrücken, with office hours Mondays 2-4 PM or by appointment.
