Benjamin Siegmund

Dr. Benjamin Siegmund is a Research Associate in German as a Second Language/German as a Foreign Language and Study Program Coordinator for the MA German as a Foreign Language/German as a Second Language at the Freiburg University of Education (PH Freiburg) since 2022. His work encompasses teaching, research, and program coordination in the field of language education, with a particular focus on integrated language development within subject teaching.

Dr. Siegmund's research interests span multiple interconnected areas: German as a Second Language (DaZ), German as a Foreign Language (DaF), language education, integrated language education in subject teaching, empirical language didactics, language acquisition and teaching of German, language development in school age, aesthetic-language education, and culture-reflective learning in language teaching. His work bridges linguistics, didactics, subject teaching, geography, educational research, and cultural theory, with a strong emphasis on empirical validation of teaching approaches.

Dr. Siegmund's publication record shows a consistent focus on language education across various subjects, with particular emphasis on science teaching, history education, and geography.
