Elisabeth Lefebvre

Dr. Elisabeth Lefebvre is an Associate Professor in the Department of Education at Bethel University, part of the College of Arts and Sciences. She joined Bethel in 2018 and holds a Ph.D. in Comparative and International Development Education from the University of Minnesota (2016), an M.A. in International Studies from the University of Oregon (2012), and a B.A. in History and Political Science from Miami University (2006). Her research focuses on the interplay between schooling, childhood, and sociocultural dynamics, with a critical lens on neoliberal educational reforms and global teacher education models.

Her interdisciplinary work spans comparative and international education, policy analysis, and qualitative methodologies. Notable grants include the Sauer Foundation Grant for diversifying teacher education and the University of Minnesota Doctoral Research Fellowship. She has published widely in journals like *Comparative Education Review*, *Teachers College Record*, and *Compare: A Journal of Comparative and International Education*, addressing topics such as Teach For America’s impact, Ugandan colonial educational archives, and Bourdieusian critiques of educational systems.

Prof. Lefebvre teaches courses on educational equity, research methods, and global perspectives in education.
