Dr. Elisa Carrus is a Senior Lecturer and co-leader of the Brain, Mind and Behaviour Group (BMBG) at London South Bank University's Division of Psychology. She serves as Course Director for the BSc Psychology (Clinical) program. Her expertise includes cognitive neuroscience, EEG techniques, and music psychology. She holds a PhD from Goldsmiths, followed by postdoctoral research at Goldsmiths, Caltech, and the University of Cambridge.
Her research focuses on the cognitive underpinnings linking music and language, with a particular interest in how music influences fairness perception, emotional processing, and wellbeing. She investigates socio-psychological dynamics, such as cooperation during pandemic lockdowns and cross-domain decision-making biases.
Carrus teaches Cognitive Neuroscience, Research Methods/Statistics, and Cognitive Psychology. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to wellbeing and social equity.
