Elena Korshenko

Elena Korshenko is a Scientific Associate (Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin) in Japanese Studies at the Department of History and Cultural Studies, Free University of Berlin. She holds an MA in Pacific Asian Studies from SOAS (London) and a BA in Asian and African Studies from Lomonosov Moscow University.

• Research: Focuses on politics and economy of Japan, comparative party politics, and mixed-methods approaches to analyze political systems

Her fieldwork and research design expertise stems from projects like the Leibniz competition project IMISEM GIGA, where she served as Japan focus consultant. She has received multiple scholarships including DAAD STIBET and Japan Foundation funding.
