Cornelia Reiher is a Professor of Japanese Studies (Society) at the Department of History and Cultural Studies, Freie Universität Berlin. Her research focuses on Japanese society, cultural mobility, and transnational identities. She advises doctoral students in the Graduate School of East Asian Studies (GEAS).
Recent publications include an article on Japanese artists' mobility in Berlin post-COVID-19, co-authored with Susanne Klien and featured in the journal Mobilities. She has supervised successful doctoral defenses by Elena Korshenko (Feb 2025) and Xuan Wen (Jan 2025).
