Elena Agazzi is a Full Professor at the University of Bergamo, Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Cultures, specializing in German literature and cultural studies. She has held visiting professorships at the University of Mannheim and University of Göttingen, and her research focuses on classical-Romantic and contemporary German literature, cultural memory, Holocaust studies, and post-war identity. She coordinates international doctoral programs and serves on editorial boards for journals like Germanistik and Gegenwartsliteratur.
Agazzi graduated in Philosophy (1985) and Foreign Languages and Literature (1989) from the University of Pavia. Her recent publications explore memory in Ilse Aichinger's work, myth in Herder and Mario Pagano, and trauma narratives in Franz Fühmann's writings. Articles highlight interdisciplinary intersections between literature, history, and cultural critique.
Her research is supported by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation fellowships and collaborations with German institutions.
