Elaine Erne

Elaine Erne serves as Adjunct Professor of Fine Arts and Illustration at Moore College of Art & Design, where she has maintained institutional affiliation for over 20 years. She additionally teaches at Drexel University, demonstrating regional commitment to arts education through Moore's Young Artists Workshop and Summer Art & Design Institute.

Her educational background includes undergraduate studies in painting and glassblowing at Carnegie Mellon University followed by graduate work in glass casting at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and Architecture. Erne's creative practice spans Fine Arts, Illustration, Drawing, Printmaking, Glassblowing, and Glass Casting, characterized as whimsical yet unsettling—drawing from personal experiences rather than direct emulation of influences like Raphael Soyer, William Kentridge, and Mark Rothko.

Recent professional highlights include solo exhibitions at Washington DC's Hillyer Gallery (2022) and Roseburg, Oregon (2024).
