Ejung Moon

Ejung Moon is a Group Leader in Radiation Biology and the Tumour Microenvironment at the Department of Oncology, University of Oxford's Medical Sciences Division. Her research focuses on hypoxia-driven tumor progression and radiation response mechanisms.

• Education: PhD in Pharmacology and Cancer Biology from Duke University
• Training: Postdoctoral work with Amato Giaccia at Stanford University

Research Interests:
Elucidating how hypoxia-induced MAFF protein regulates tumor cell invasion, metastasis, and radiation resistance through antioxidant response pathways. Current work explores MAFF dimerization dynamics and metabolic reprogramming in hypoxic tumors.

Scientific Contributions:
Identified MAFF's role in radiation-induced antioxidant gene regulation (2021, Nature Communications). Recent studies investigate iron metabolism's impact on FLASH radiotherapy effects.
