Eileen Smith

Eileen Smith is a Lecturer at the School of Visual Arts and Design, University of Central Florida, and serves as Program Director for the Institute for Simulation & Training (IST) and Director of the E2i Creative Studio. Her roles include fostering interdisciplinary partnerships and advancing immersive technology applications for learning. • Education: M.A. in Theater from the University of Louisville, B.A. in Speech from Georgia State University.

Research Interests span immersive technologies, simulation and training, augmented reality (AR), and design-centric approaches to education. Her work focuses on leveraging emerging technologies to enhance learning outcomes across diverse domains such as aviation, defense, and energy.

Projects and Expertise include NSF-funded initiatives like "Water’s Journey through the Everglades" and industry collaborations with SLB, emphasizing simulation-based blended learning systems. She specializes in rapid prototyping, VR, and emotionally compelling educational experiences.
