Edl Schamiloglu is a Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of New Mexico (UNM), affiliated with the College of Engineering. He joined UNM in 1988 and has held roles such as Special Assistant to the Provost for Laboratory Relations and Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science. His research focuses on high-power microwave sources, pulsed power technologies, plasma physics, and neurosystems engineering. He has authored or co-authored over 170 journal papers, 270 conference papers, and 8 patents, with an h-index of 38 and i10-index of 141. Key awards include the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society’s Richard F. Shea Award and the inaugural IEEE NPSS Magne Kristiansen Award.
