Ed Martin is Professor of Music at UW Oshkosh, teaching music theory, composition, and electronic music. Awarded the Rosebush Professorship (2019), his compositions are performed globally at ISCM World New Music Days, World Saxophone Congresses, and International Computer Music Conferences.
Research includes theoretical analyses of Magnus Lindberg's harmonic structures and electroacoustic techniques. Works are recorded on Ravello, Centaur, and innova labels, including the album Journeys with pianist Jeri-Mae Astolfi.
Service roles include Vice-President of Wisconsin Alliance for Composers, managing new music commissions and student opportunities. He holds DMA/MM/BM degrees in composition from University of Illinois, University of Texas, and University of Florida.
