Ed Keller

Ed Keller is a Lecturer in the School of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). He holds a Master of Architecture from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Bard College. His interdisciplinary work bridges architecture, speculative design, new media, and philosophy. As co-founder of Spec.AE and AUM Studio, he explores speculative design practices and has led international projects in Europe and the US.

His research investigates the interplay between cultural, infrastructural, ecological, and technosocial systems, emphasizing emergent terrestrial and cosmopolitical potentials. He has curated initiatives like LAB#03 Synthetic Minds (Madrid) and served as Creative Director for the Venice Virtual Pavilion (2023) and Italian Pavilion (2021). His lectures address AI, architecture, ecology, and sound design, with performances and writings featured in journals like Volume, SCHISM, and Leonardo Electronic Almanac.

Professional roles include Director of The New Centre’s Post Planetary Universal Design program (2021–2023), Creative Director at SingularityNET (2022–2023), and Associate Professor/Associate Dean at Parsons School of Design (2009–2020). He has taught at Columbia GSAPP, SCIArc, and other institutions since 1996.
