Dustin Budish

Dustin Budish is an Instructor of Viola at the School of Music, part of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Nevada, Reno. He is also principal viola of the Reno Philharmonic and Reno Chamber Orchestra, and conductor of the Reno Youth Concert Orchestra.

• Education: MM (with honors) from New England Conservatory, BM from Oberlin College and Cleveland Institute of Music.

His research interests include classical viola performance, chamber music collaboration, and music education. He has performed globally with renowned orchestras and ensembles, including the Verbier Festival and New World Symphony. Budish emphasizes nurturing young musicians, teaching privately and leading innovative educational programs.

• Awards: Russell Award (2001).

He has served as artistic director for the 'Friends' of New World Symphony, blending classical music with genres like hip-hop and electronic. His career spans performances in Europe, Asia, India, and Israel, including a notable solo with the Reno Philharmonic in 2015.
