About
Doug Saddy is Professor of Language Sciences and Founding Director of the Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics (CINN) at the University of Reading. As Director of the MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience program, he promotes interdisciplinary research bridging psychology, neuroscience, and linguistics.
Research combines behavioral experiments, neurocognitive methods, and computational modeling to investigate language processing mechanisms. Current projects examine cognitive effects of multilingualism, hierarchical structure learning, and neural dynamics of language comprehension using Lindenmayer grammars.
Publication output demonstrates consistent focus on neurocognitive aspects of language processing across typical and clinical populations. Recent work explores multilingual brain restructuring, rhythmic influences on syntax processing, and computational models of hierarchical learning.
Leadership includes establishing two university research centers: the Centre for Literacy and Multilingualism and CINN. These initiatives foster collaboration across psychology, neuroscience, and computational disciplines to address complex questions in cognitive science.
