Alex Sheehan is a CINN Research Fellow at the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences, University of Reading, currently preparing to submit their PhD thesis. They actively contribute to the Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics (CINN) research ecosystem.

Their work centers on bilingual cognition, structural/functional brain connectivity, cognitive reserve mechanisms, and network dynamics, with specialized expertise in neuroimaging methods, artificial grammars, and non-linear modeling. They maintain strong advocacy for open science practices, reproducibility standards, and improving research accessibility across academia.
Professional Contributions:
- Recently completed an EEG study on linguistic experience's impact on brain functional connectivity using non-linear modeling
- Managed EEG laboratories within the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences
- Conducted statistics workshops for MSc Clinical Language Sciences students
- Involved in CINN research clusters: Language and Multilingualism, Neurocognitive Function and Development, Ageing and Neurodegeneration
Prior to doctoral studies, they served as a Technician in the School of Chemistry, Food, and Pharmacy at the University of Reading.
