Ms. Dottie Rimpsey is an Assistant Professor of Mass Media Studies at Talladega College, where she has taught since 2017. She oversees courses in Broadcast Writing, Media Law, Theory, and directs the department’s internship program. Her professional background includes roles as a TV producer and nonprofit program manager, alongside hosting a local TV talk show at WEAC-TV24 Oxford, Alabama.
Before joining Talladega College, Rimpsey served as an adjunct professor at Jacksonville State University. Her career began at TV40 News in Anniston, progressing to producer roles at WFSB Channel 3 in Hartford, CT. She has been recognized for community service, including the National Presidential Service Award for her work with Hurricane Katrina resettlement and leadership roles with Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and Concern for Children.
Rimpsey’s honors include being named a Woman of Excellence by the New Alabama Voters League and the Paul Harris Fellow Award. She actively integrates experiential learning through her TV platform and nonprofit engagement.
