Donna Wampole

Donna Wampole, DSW, LCSW is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Southern Maine, Portland. She holds a Doctor of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania (2018) and a Master of Social Work from Temple University (2008). Her clinical practice focuses on trauma-informed care, dual diagnosis treatment, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), emphasizing mindfulness and compassionate communication. Her research explores burnout prevention in healthcare professionals through mindfulness interventions, with a dissertation examining its application for psychiatric nurses. She integrates self-compassion and well-being practices into social work education, addressing student and professional resilience.
