Donna Varga is a Professor in the Child and Youth Study Department at Mount Saint Vincent University, specializing in socio-cultural constructions of childhood. She holds a BASc from Guelph and MA/PhD from University of Toronto in Sociology of Education.

- Socio-cultural beliefs about animal-human relationships

Her publications critically analyze representations of childhood in academic literature and cultural artifacts, tracing connections between racialized ideologies and developmental theories. Recent work examines anthropocentrism in children's culture and recapitulation theory's influence.
