About
Dr. Christine Lackner is a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Mount Saint Vincent University, where she combines developmental psychology and neuroscience methodologies to study individual differences in self-regulation and executive functioning during adolescence and early adulthood. She holds a Ph.D. in Behavioural Neuroscience (2015) and M.Sc. in Developmental Psychology (2009) from Brock and Queen’s Universities respectively, along with an Honours B.A. in Psychology and Child and Youth Studies (2007).
Her research focuses on neural mechanisms of self-regulation using event-related potentials (ERPs) while examining environmental factors like adverse childhood experiences and racial stressors. Current projects include expanding diversity in EEG research through improved data collection methods for individuals with curly/coiled hair.
Key publication trends show expertise in:
- Developmental neuroscience applications
- ERP analysis for cognitive-emotional processes
- Environmental impacts on neurodevelopment
- Methodological innovations in EEG
- Individual differences in executive function
- Cross-cultural developmental research
