Dr. Don Leidl is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of New Brunswick, Moncton campus. His educational background includes an EdD in Higher Education Administration from the University of Liverpool (2016), Master of Nursing from Athabasca University (2010), and BSN from the University of Saskatchewan (2001).
Dr. Leidl's research specializes in virtual reality applications in clinical education, mental health nursing, aggressive patient management, and northern nursing practices. He has secured multiple grants including a $755,000 Government of Saskatchewan grant for large-scale VR integration in nursing education. His scholarly publications focus on innovative educational approaches and mental health interventions.
Awards include the Provost Teaching Award (2015) and Saskatchewan Healthcare Excellence Award in Leadership (2007). He serves as President of the Canadian Federation of Mental Health Nurses and founded the Northern Nursing Education Network through the UArctic Thematic Research Network.
