Dionne Cowan

Dr. Dionne Cowan serves as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Policy Studies and Executive Director of the Principals Center at Georgia State University. She holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from GSU (2016) and researches leadership influences on African American men and boys navigating the school-to-prison pipeline.

With 20+ years in education, Cowan has experience as a K-12 teacher, administrator, and district trainer. She investigates how leadership in homes, schools, and communities helps marginalized students avoid punitive systems.
