Dimitrios Raptopoulos is a Professor and Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine at the European University of Cyprus (EUC). He holds a Veterinary Degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1969) and a PhD in Veterinary Science (1976), followed by specialized diplomas in Veterinary Anaesthesia from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (1978) and the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA, 1995). His career spans five decades with key roles including:
- Dean of Veterinary School, University of Thessaloniki (2003-2007)
- President of ECVAA (1995-2011)

His research focuses on optimizing anaesthetic protocols to reduce surgical complications like gastro-oesophageal reflux in canines/cats, and advancing pain management strategies.
