Dr Dimitrios Doukas is a Reader (equivalent to Associate Professor) in EU Law at the University of Manchester's School of Law since 2013. Previously, he held roles as Lecturer (2005–2011) and Senior Lecturer (2011–2013) at Queen’s University Belfast. He holds a Doctor iuris from the University of Hamburg and an LLM from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His expertise spans European Union Law, including Economic Law, Media & Entertainment Law, and Comparative Public Law.
His research focuses on EU internal market freedoms, public interest litigation, and media regulation. He has published extensively, including a monograph on Media Law and Market Regulation (forthcoming with Hart Publishing), and contributed to projects like the ESRC-funded study on “public interest” in UK Courts (2009–2011). He has held visiting positions at Cambridge, Oxford, UCLA, and Toulouse.
