Dimitrios C. Ghicas

Dimitrios C. Ghicas serves as Professor of Financial Accounting at Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), affiliated with the School of Business and Department of Accounting and Finance. Previously, he held an Associate Professor position in Accountancy at Bernard M. Baruch College, City University of New York.

His educational background features a Ph.D. from the University of Florida.

Research focuses on security valuation and economic implications of accounting data, with significant contributions to understanding accounting information in decision frameworks. His scholarly output spans top-tier journals including The Accounting Review and Contemporary Accounting Research, alongside three authoritative books: The Analysis and the Uses of Financial Statements, Financial Analysis: A Collection of Papers, and Financial Accounting, 2nd Edition.

Administrative leadership includes chairing the Department of Accounting and Finance (1999-2001) and directing AUEB's full-time MBA program (1994-1998). He currently co-edits The International Journal of Accounting while maintaining active teaching in Financial Accounting and related disciplines.
