Dhanan Sarwo Utomo

Dhanan Sarwo Utomo is an Assistant Professor at the School of Social Sciences and Edinburgh Business School within Heriot-Watt University. He focuses on systems thinking and operational research, with an emphasis on modeling and simulation approaches applied to logistics, supply chains, food systems, and sustainability. His research addresses challenges such as cold chain infrastructure, renewable energy adoption, and pandemic resilience in food security.

His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in sustainable infrastructure and responsible consumption. Notable contributions include the ESSA Distinguished Dissertation Award 2020 for his thesis on simulation methodologies.
