Adam Gripton

Adam Gripton is an Assistant Professor at the School of Social Sciences within the Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University. His work contributes to Sustainable Development Goals related to infrastructure and food systems. He previously held a position at QinetiQ from 2012 to 2018. His research focuses on cold chain logistics, agent-based modeling, sustainable transportation, and electric vehicle systems. He has published extensively on topics like perishable food supply chains, electric road systems, and vaccination logistics strategies. He is a Chartered Mathematician (CMath) and actively engages in academic activities such as peer reviews, conferences, and teaching.

Research interests include optimizing cold chains for perishable goods, simulating large-scale logistics systems, and advancing sustainable transport solutions. His recent work addresses challenges in Rwanda's agri-food cold chains and UK road freight electrification. He leads the MILES project, enhancing perishable supply chain management through simulation tools.
