Devesh Rustagi is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Warwick, and an invited researcher at the Jameel Poverty Action Lab (JPAL) at MIT. His research bridges behavioral economics, development economics, economic history, environmental economics, and political economy. He examines the origins and stability of civic values and institutions, their interplay, and their impact on development, environmental, and political outcomes. He designs and evaluates public policies using quasi-experimental approaches, randomized field experiments, and behavioral experiments, with current projects in Ethiopia, Germany, India, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
