About
Derek Krepski is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at the University of Manitoba, where he has been faculty since 2013. His research specializes in symplectic geometry, topology, and higher structures in differential geometry, with particular focus on geometric quantization, Lie groupoids, and bundle gerbes.
Krepski teaches courses across the mathematics curriculum including Algebraic Topology, Differential Geometry, and Representation Theory. He actively mentors undergraduate researchers in topological data analysis and symplectic geometry, and supervises graduate students in geometry and topology. His research group investigates bundle gerbes, Courant algebroids, and equivariant cohomology, with recent publications in Geometriae Dedicata, Journal of Geometry and Physics, and Communications in Mathematical Physics.
He currently serves as Associate Head for Undergraduate Studies and maintains collaborations through PIMS postdoctoral programs. Krepski welcomes students interested in funded summer research projects exploring topological data analysis, symplectic geometry, or applied category theory.
