Dennis Wojtkiewicz is a Professor of Painting in the School of Art at Bowling Green State University (BGSU), part of the College of Arts and Sciences. He has been a faculty member since 1988. He holds an MFA (1981) and BA (1977) in Drawing and Painting from Southern Illinois University.
His artistic focus revolves around hyper-realism and photo-realism in painting and drawing, exploring the emotive quality of light and the intersection of analog and digital art. Recent work questions representational techniques versus abstraction in the digital age.
Notable solo exhibitions include Allusion and Illusion (2020, M.A. Doran Gallery) and Visual Revelations (2019, Rosenthal Gallery). His work is represented by galleries such as M.A. Doran Gallery (Tulsa), Rosenthal Fine Art (Chicago), and Plus One Gallery (London). It is included in prominent collections globally, including the Butler Institute of American Art and the Evansville Museum of Arts and Sciences.
He has received significant recognition, including Ohio Arts Council Fellowships in 2001 and 1992. His teaching specialties include Drawing and Painting courses such as Advanced Painting and Drawing and Contemporary Concepts in Painting.
