Christopher Ryan

Christopher Ryan is a Professor of Art and Design and Director of the Gelbke Fine Arts Center Gallery at Hiram College. He teaches painting, drawing, and 2-D design, and leads study abroad programs in Tuscany. His research explores art history, antiquity, and global heritage preservation through realist and spontaneous painting styles.

His artwork investigates 'charged spaces,' blending intricate compositions with psychological narratives. Notable exhibitions include Lucid Moments & Liminal Spaces (2017) and a solo show at Kent State University (2014). He received the Best of Show award at Lakeland Community College's 5th Annual May Show in 2014.

His courses address threats to heritage sites from climate, tourism, and conflict. He actively promotes cultural exchange through international collaborations and public exhibitions.
