Dr. Denise Furlong is an Assistant Professor at Georgian Court University's School of Arts, Sciences, and Education, where she serves as Director of Advanced Programs for Reading Specialist & ESL. She holds an Ed.D. and Ed.M. from Rutgers University (Magna Cum Laude) in Literacy and Language Education, and a BS from The College of New Jersey (Summa Cum Laude) in Elementary Education & Spanish.
Her research focuses on Newcomers and SLIFE, Literacy for diverse students, and Holistic professional learning. She works extensively with multilingual learners, emphasizing cultural inclusion, social-emotional support, and equitable instructional strategies.
