Delphine Gardey is a Full Professor of Contemporary History and Sociology at the Institute for Gender Studies, Geneva School of Social Sciences, University of Geneva. She has held leadership roles including Director of the Master’s and Doctoral programs in Gender Studies and Director of the French-speaking doctoral school in gender studies. Previously, she served as Director of the Institute of Gender Studies and as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Her research focuses on gender history, gender and science, technology, biomedicine, feminist epistemologies, cyberfeminism, and the history of parliamentary institutions. She explores how gender intersects with scientific knowledge, technological development, and political representation, particularly through material and institutional histories. Her work critically engages with feminist theory, science and technology studies (STS), and postcolonial perspectives.
Her recent scholarly output spans topics such as the medicalization of female sexuality, the material culture of parliaments, and feminist readings of Donna Haraway and Judith Butler. The articles reflect a consistent engagement with the gendered dimensions of science, politics, and embodiment, combining historical depth with theoretical sophistication.
