Del Siegle is the Lynn and Ray Neag Endowed Chair for Talent Development at the University of Connecticut's Neag School of Education. He holds concurrent roles as Director of the National Center for Research on Gifted Education (NCRGE) and the Renzulli Center for Creativity, Gifted Education, and Talent Development. He earned his Ph.D. in Special Education (Gifted and Talented/Educational Psychology) from UConn in 1995, following earlier degrees from Montana State University.
His research focuses on gifted education equity, underachievement, and technology integration. Notable publications address barriers to underserved student access in gifted programs and teacher bias in identification processes. He has authored influential textbooks, including Education of the Gifted and Talented.
Dr. Siegle has led national organizations like NAGC and AERA’s Giftedness SIG. Awards include the 2021 NAGC Founder’s Memorial Award and 2014 Montana AGATE Friend of AGATE Award. His work spans policy advocacy, teacher training, and program development, aiming to enhance equity and excellence in gifted education.
