Deepti Misri

Deepti Misri serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Women and Gender Studies. Her academic work critically engages with decolonial feminism, Kashmir studies, and disability studies within South Asian contexts.

Her research examines intersections of gender, race, disability, and colonialism in Kashmir, focusing on memorialization, loss, and resistance. She develops decolonial feminist frameworks to analyze literary and cultural productions, particularly regarding Kashmiri Pandit experiences and the impact of occupation on gendered bodies.

Recent publications (2020-2025) consistently address Kashmiri futures, decolonial feminism, and disability. Key themes include memorial aesthetics, settler occupation, and resistance, demonstrating interdisciplinary approaches that bridge literary theory, critical geography, and postcolonial studies.
